  4. There are a couple different ways to take this, where do you wish to practice this non-verbal commu ? I'll look for clarification, and then respond, or I'd be happy to respond to a direct inquiry.
  5. Lets start by arranging a date between my avatar and you. He is going crazy to talk with you HEE HEE
  6. A good way to make your body language easier for other people to read is to mentally allow your body to relax (stay loose). This lets more of your body english to get through for other people to detect. Also, I find that sometimes overacting also helps me to use body language to make an extra emphasis or point. But be careful is doing the "over-acting" as there is a fine line between that and "hamming" it up.
  7. writing so this place, chat, emails, correspondence, journaling, diary, penpal, letters to your congressman... you could practice with me, if you'd like. let me know. (answer one of my questions???)
  8. Focus on the non-surface aspects of the communication -- as in your description: "Easy to look at, hard to see." Try to "see." Practically, I think, this means developing presence. That is, just try being present with the person you are communicating with -- don't worry about looking good, sounding good, etc. Just BE. Or, another way of saying it might be to just WATCH the situation, as if from some objective point, beyond yourself -- be present as the "watcher" of the situation. You might just sit in silence with that person, and be aware of -- watch -- what happens. I teach writing, and one of my favorite exercises is making my class attempt to stand up and sit down without making any noise. Sounds weird, but what it does is slow everybody down -- makes them tune into the small sounds, the less surfacy-things which seem to go unnoticed most of the time. They become more aware of non-verbal stuff too. And, I'd like to think, more aware of themselves.
