  1. cuz its true what they say...not always what ya say but how ya say it. body language means alot cuz people can sense how serious you are or how deeply you actually feel about something or someone
  2. Non Verbal communication is what the person is really saying. You can say that you are ok with something, but if you have your arms crossed and are making a face, the chances of you being ok aren't good. They always say, actions speak louder than words. Thats the truth. Body language is involuntary, so its usually the best way to tell if someone is lying to you. They usually look up to the right if one is lying or their eyes begin to dilate. But having dilated eyes can also mean you find that person attractive, so your eyes dilate to basically see more of that person. I did a lot of research online about body language. It's amazing how one can learn about people.
  3. Are you kidding, there is no communication without the look, the tone and the attitude behind the words.
  4. Cause what you don't say is sometimes heard the loudest! Cause there's a body over here so you might as well , don't hold back!
  5. Non-verbal communication is important to reinforce the fact that human relationships extend far beyond simply speaking to one another. Things like hand gestures, eye contact, facial expressions, laughing, and especially physical contact are all important ways people communicate. Just try to imagine a world where the only way you could communicate was on the phone, in a monotone voice. Doesn't sound very exciting if you ask me!
  6. Our verbal communication is only 20-30% in a typical conversation and rest is non-verbal. Hence it is extremely important to watch one's non-verbal communication. You can easily pick up if a person is telling the truth by observing non-verbal signs. Case in point - I normally don't trust when someone is talking to me but there is no eye contact or they are frequently darting their eyes looking somewhere else. N-V comm. also tells if the person is angry, annoyed, happy, sad etc., various emotions can be detected from the body language.
  7. Why is Non-Violent Communication important ? see cnvc.org because verbal communication is frequently based on blaming, criticizing, and judging..
  8. Why ask why? It simply is.
  9. Because Verbal communication is only half of the message in communication. A lot of the message someone is giving is often in their body language or there tone of voice, not in what they are saying. Many times non-verbal communincations in more accurate in what the person is try to say then verbal communiction itself. If someone is not telling the truth you can normally pick it up in their body language before they spill the beans verbally. This is way it is important in understanding Non-verbal cummunication.
  10. i am taking a different approach to this question, and not answering on body language. i work with a client who is 8 and almost totally nonverbal. he can speak in sentences, but when he was younger he couldnt communicate at all. so his nonverbal communication:sign language and icons was his way of telling ppl his wants and needs. Before he learned to use such tools he was an unhappy, aggressive little boy because no one knew what he was saying and what he needed...Now through sign language, verbal communication, and picture icons he can hold normal conversations with his peers, and enjoy doing it....so to answer your question this is why i think nonverbal communication is so important it gives a voice to silent ppl.
